College Profile

Clive Irvine College of Health Sciences (CICHS) is located in the Eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, Tharaka Nithi County within PCEA Chogoria Hospital, a serene environment conducive for learning.

The college was established with a vision of becoming the college of choice in training of globally competitive health professionals to the glory of God. The college was established in 1951 as a college of nursing and has trained many globally competitive nurses, with many currently working overseas. We have the accolades of having been one of the pioneer colleges to train nurses who have served our nation diligently. Our college has since grown from an institution solely focused on nursing training to a comprehensive centre for medical education, now offering a diverse range of medical-related courses to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.

Our college is recognized as a Middle Level College by the Ministry of Education and is accredited by the Nursing council of Kenya and Technical and Vocation Education and Training Authority (TVETA). All our academic programs have been approved by relevant statutory bodies.

CICHS is well-equipped with a library and a fully functional skills lab, providing students with extensive resources and hands-on learning opportunities to enhance their knowledge and practical skills.

We provide meals and spacious self-contained accommodation facilities with hot showers and reading space. Day schooling option is also acceptable.
