Miracle Twins Discharged: A PCEA Chogoria Hospital Success Story

Miracle Twins Discharged

On May 26, 2025, PCEA Chogoria Hospital welcomed two miracles into the world: Abigail Amani and Kingsley Baraka, twin babies born to Nelly Kendi. Delivered preterm at 29 weeks and 5 days, Abigail weighed 1500 grams, and Kingsley weighed 1550 grams. Their early arrival marked the beginning of a remarkable journey of strength, care, and hope, supported by the dedicated team at the hospital’s Neonatal Unit (NBU). The delivery was skillfully managed by Dr. Michael Kioko along with Dr. Mathew Loftus, Dr. Eldon Boy, and a compassionate nursing team. Their expertise provided a solid foundation for the twins’ care. Admitted to the NBU, Abigail and Kingsley received specialized attention for 44 days, with each day serving as a testament to their resilience and the exceptional neonatal care provided by the hospital. Today, July 10, 2025, marks a joyous milestone as Abigail, now weighing 2190 grams, and Kingsley, at 2035 grams, are being discharged from the hospital. Their growth and strength reflect the tireless efforts of the NBU team and the combined power of medical care, hope, and prayer. To celebrate this moment, the Maternity Unit hosted a heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony, attended by prayers of gratitude from the Chaplaincy department for Nelly Kendi, the twins’ mother, whose courage and faith have inspired everyone throughout this journey. At PCEA Chogoria Hospital, we remain committed to supporting our patients through every step of their journey, from delicate beginnings to successful homecomings. We celebrate Abigail and Kingsley and extend our thanks to everyone who played a role in this inspiring story of love and life. As the twins leave the NBU, they carry with them the love and prayers of their family and the hospital community, ready to embrace a bright future.
