A Health Service Support Certificate course provides foundational training for students interested in working in healthcare support roles. During the 1-year training, the student will learn essential skills such as patient assistance (nutrition, hygiene, ambulation), infection control, workplace safety, communication, and basic medical terminology. The course prepares students for entry-level positions in hospitals, aged care facilities, and community health settings, supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals in non-clinical capacities. The mode of delivery involves lectures, skills laboratory demonstrations, OSCEs and clinical rotations.
Admission Requirements
Those interested in pursuing a Certificate in Health Service Support MUST meet the below requirements:
KCSE mean grade of D (plain) and above or its equivalent
Certificate in Health Service Support (Health Care Assistant) Fee Structure. Academic Year 2025-2026
